Minnesota governor Mark Dayton has signed a bill that will build a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings worth nearly $1 billion, according to the Associated Press.

Dayton signed the bill today before a cheering crowd that included the team's owners and several key legislators. The state of Minnesota and city of Minneapolis will pay approximately half the cost of the new stadium; the Vikings will pay the other half. The Vikings will sign a 30-year lease to remain at the new stadium, eliminating all concerns that the team was in danger of leaving Minnesota.
