The Philadelphia Phillies have placed starting pitcher Vance Worley on the disabled list with right elbow inflammation, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.

Worley, 24, has gone 3-2 with a 3.07 ERA this season in seven starts for the Phillies. In his last two games, however, the right-hander has allowed eight earned runs and 17 hits in 12 innings pitched. Last year, Worley went 11-3 in 25 appearances for Philadelphia, posting a 3.01 ERA. The Phillies are currently 18-19, which leaves them in last place in the National League East.
