Brett Lawrie Drops Appeal Of Four Game Suspension

Brett Lawrie has dropped his appeal on a four game suspension handed to him this week for throwing his batting helmet at umpire Bill Miller on Tuesday, according to Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com.

Lawrire, who played last night, will begin his suspension today.

The incident occurred when the 22-year-old became upset that he had been called out on strikes on a pitch that appeared to be high and out of the zone. He immediately turned toward Miller and threw his helmet at the ground in his direction before being restrained by coaches and teammates.
