The Colorado Avalanche have signed Milan Hejduk to a one-year deal, according to NHL.com.

"I believe in this organization and our young players and look forward to helping the team in any way that I can," Hejduk said. "My family and I are very excited to continue my career here in Denver."

The 36-year-old tallied 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points in 81 games for Colorado this year. His best season came in 2002-03 when he had 50 goals and 48 assists for 98 points. He has played for the Avalanche his entire career.
