University of Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds is content with the current 10-team Big 12.  But that doesn't mean he hasn't thought about expanding.

Dodds tells that discussions with Notre Dame have been ongoing since 2010 and the newly-formed Champions Bowl between the Big 12 and SEC regular season champions further solidifies the power conferences in college football. "We could expand to some number," Dodds tells "You name the number -- 12, 14, 16. We could expand but the question is 'do we need to expand?' In my mind 10 is perfect because you play everybody in football and there is a double-round-robin in basketball."  Fighting Irish head basketball coach Mike Brey told yesterday that Notre Dame has "contingency plans" if they decide to leave the Big East Conference.
