Reigning National League MVP Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers will not play in Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers because of tightness in an Achilles tendon, reports Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Haudricourt writes that Braun has experienced this issue before from time to time, from which we gather that it is not a serious problem.

Braun had played in 48 of the Brewers 50 games entering Thursday, hitting .309 with 14 home runs and 36 RBIs, with 10 steals. Norichika Aoki is penciled in to start in left field in Braun's place, but Aoki bat leadoff, with rightfielder Corey Hart moving into the three-hole.
