Report: Brian Shaw is top candidate for Orlando Magic head coaching job

Whether or not Phil Jackson takes over as the head of the Orlando Magic's front office, his former assistant Brian Shaw is the favorite to get Orlando's head coaching position, reports Orlando Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi.

SI.com's Sam Amick previously reported that the Magic are debating having Jackson run the team while spending limited time in Orlando. The plan currently under consideration has Shaw as head coach and Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, who played for Jackson with the Chicago Bulls, as Shaw's top assistant.

Bianchi's report makes it clear that Shaw is the team's leading option regardless of what happens with Jackson.
