Seahawks: Brian Banks can still run sub 4.7 40-yd dash

Whether or not Brian Banks gets a realistic shot to make an NFL roster remains to be seen.  But what is certain is Banks still has some athletic ability left and ran a sub 4.7 40-yard dash, according to the Seattle Times.

Banks, 26, spent five years in prison and was on parole for another five before being exonerated of charges of rape and kidnapping last month.

Banks at 6 feet 2 and 239 pounds was invited for a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks wearing a sweatshirt that said "XONR8."

"This is one of those stories we need to follow, see what happens," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "Regardless of how it turns out, it's the fact that he's made it to this point, and he's going to get this opportunity. I hope it helps other people."

Banks said he is just thankful for the opportunity to compete for a roster spot.
