New Orleans Saints backup quarterback Chase Daniel and defensive end Greg Romeus were injured during practice today reports the Times-Picayune. Romeus will be sidelined six to eight months, meaning he will be likely placed on injured reserve for the 2012 season.

Romeus spent his 2011 rookie season with the Saints on the physically-unable-to-perform list and injured reserve recovering from a knee injury.

"He was just running down the field and his non-surgical knee gave on him," interim head coach Joe Vitt said of Romeus. "This kid has really worked hard. The whole team feels bad for him, the coaching staff feels bad for him."
