New Washington State head coach Mike Leach took time out to attend a Dallas Cowboys practice this week and while he was there to presumably look at football, he took the time to enjoy himself at the expense of former ESPN college football analyst Craig James.
Leach was asked about James' defeat in the U.S. Senate race last month. James only received four percent of the vote in the Republican primary in Texas.
"Well, I think the results were about what everybody expected. I share the same opinion that 97 percent of the others do," said Leach told the Dallas Morning News.
The Dallas Morning News had a poll in March asking "Who would you vote for senator: Craig James or Mike Leach?" Leach received almost 96 percent of the votes.
Leach still is looking for a settlement after being fired by Texas Tech. An appeals court ruled that Texas Tech was immune from Leach's claim of breach of contract, but Leach can claim non-monetary compensation.
"Well, I'm trying to collect my money, absolutely," Leach said. "If you work all this year and at the end you don't get paid, you'll probably try to get your money I would think."
