The Los Angeles Lakers are "very open" to trading Pau Gasol ahead of Thursday's NBA Draft, according to a tweet Wednesday from Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, but the team wants an "established player" and a top 10 pick in return, according to a report Wednesday afternoon from Marc Stein and Chad Ford of ESPN.com:

The Los Angeles Lakers have been checking around the league this week to gauge Pau Gasol's trade value, according to sources briefed on the discussions.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Lakers have been contacting teams in an effort to acquire a top-10 pick in Thursday's draft. The Lakers also are seeking an established player along with the pick if they're to part with Gasol.

A deal was not imminent as of Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier in June, Jim Buss, the son of Lakers owner, Jerry, told the Los Angeles Times that Gasol is off the trading block and that the only place the center would move is closer to the basket for the Lakers. According to that Times report, Kobe Bryant said that he's "pretty satisfied" with the roster as it is.
