The Brooklyn Nets are currently having talks with the Atlanta Hawks to possibly acquire All-Star guard Joe Johnson so he could be paired with Nets free-agent guard Deron Williams, Yahoo! Sports reports.

The NBA's free-agent period begins Saturday at 12:01 a.m. and Williams, considered the top free-agent this season, reportedly will meet with the Dallas Mavericks and the Nets on Monday, then denied that he and Mavericks guard Jason Kidd have decided to play for the same team.

Of course, this deal is dependent on Williams re-signing a deal with the Nets. Johnson, a six-time All-Star, has played 12 seasons with the Celtics, Suns and Hawks and averaged 18.8 points a game for the Hawks last season.
