Buried at the very bottom of Marc Stein's story on ESPN.com on the Steve Nash-to-the-Lakers sign-and-trade deal is the following nugget: that Nash will try to convince forward Grant Hill to make the move west with him.
Sources told ESPN.com that Nash will try to convince longtime teammate Grant Hill, one of his closest friends in the game, to join him with the Lakers. ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported over the weekend the Lakers were one of four teams (along with Toronto, New York and Phoenix) in the running for Hill after the 39-year-old's recent trip to Germany to undergo the same platelet-enrichment treatment on his knee that [Kobe] Bryant credited for his rejuvenated knee last season.
Hill has started 972 of his 997 career regular-season games, but if the Lakers choose to keep Metta World Peace at small forward, Hill, who turns 40 in October, is capable of being a valuable and versatile bench player.
UPDATE: Frank Isola of the New York Daily News reports that Hill will decide between two options: https://twitter.com/FisolaNYDN/status/220721236446162945
