A source tells Jeff Caplan of ESPNDallas.com that the Dallas Mavericks are still very much interested in making a bid for amnestied power forward Luis Scola, even though they have already landed amnestied power forward Elton Brand.

Because of the nature of his contract with the Houston Rockets, Scola will come at a greater cost than did Brand, but the Mavericks still have room under the cap to make a bid. Caplan writes that Scola doesn't appear to be a good fit in the team's rotation but that at the right price he could be turned into a trade asset.
