Marshawn Lynch formally charged with DUI

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was formally charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Wednesday. His arraignment is August 14.

Lynch was arrested Saturday morning in Oakland, Calif. on suspicion of driving under the influence. Lynch was weaving his car between lanes and nearly ran into surrounding traffic before he was arrested, according to a report released by the California Highway Patrol.

Lynch may be subject to some disciplinary action from the NFL as a repeat offender of the league's personal conduct policy.  In 2008, he had his driver's license revoked for failure to exercise due care toward a pedestrian after he hit a woman and kept driving. In 2009, he was suspended by the league for three games after he pled guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge.
