Two arrests in one offseason meant a pink slip for Aaron Berry on Monday.

Tom Leyden of WXYZ-Detroit reports the Detroit Lions cut the cornerback after he was arrested Saturday morning on three charges of simple assault.

On June 23, Berry was arrested on suspicion of DUI, failure to stop and render aid from an accident and other counts.

His arrest marked the seventh for a member of the Lions in the past seven months. Defensive tackle Nick Fairley was arrested twice in two months.

Detroit Free-Press reporter Dave Birkett tweeted a statement from team president Tom Lewand shortly after Berry's cut was confirmed.
