The Los Angeles Clippers have acquired guard Willie Green in a sign-and-trade deal with the Atlanta Hawks, the team announced in a media release.

Green, 31, had played most of career with the 76ers but spent last season with the Hawks. He averaged 7.6 points per game with Atlanta and made 44.2 percent of his three-point attempts.

Green gives Los Angeles another veteran off the bench. The Clippers have already signed free agents Jamal Crawford, Grant Hill and Ronny Turiaf this offseason. The team also brought back guard Chauncey Billups.

That veteran presence could help Los Angeles move closer to the Western Conference's elite.
