Florida State cornerback Greg Reid, a former five-star recruit and one's of the nation's top punt returners, has been dismissed from the team, the school announced Wednesday.

Reid, who would have been a senior, was arrested less than a month ago for marijuana possession and multiple traffic violations. (He has denied the drug possession). It was his second arrest of the year. He had been arrested for lying to police last fall, but charges were later dropped in that case. Reid was a preseason All-ACC pick as a punt returner, and the Orlando Sentinel reports he was likely to break Deion Sanders' school record for punt return yards this season.
