Tracy McGrady reportedly has interest from Bulls

The Bulls recently added Golden State Warriors free agent Nate Robinson, and Chicago's roster could remain intact as the team heads into training camp later this offseason.

But, if the Bulls do find room for one more player, it will be Atlanta Hawks unrestricted free agent Tracy McGrady who could get the nod, according to a tweet Wednesday afternoon from Chicago Bulls beat-reporter K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune.

McGrady, a seven-time All-Star and two-time league scoring champion who spent the prime of his career with the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets, would provide the Bulls with an inexpensive, veteran backup as a swingman who can play shooting guard or small forward.

In addition to Robinson, the Bulls acquired Marco Belinelli this offseason to address a backcourt that has suddenly become thin. Former Bull Kirk Hinrich also came to Chicago in a trade that sent Kyle Korver to the Atlanta Hawks. The team has rookie Marquis Teague as well, but backup point guard John Lucas III signed with the Toronto Raptors this offseason and it's not likely that the Bulls will bring back guard Richard Hamilton either.

While McGrady could do everything from bring the ball up in Derrick Rose's absence to guard three positions, it's yet to be seen whether he can still play a full season. Injuries have followed him throughout his career; on average, he has missed 20 games per season since being drafted by the Toronto Raptors with the ninth overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft.
