The NFL suspended San Diego Chargers defensive lineman Garrett Brown four games without pay for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, Profootballtalk.com reports.

Brown can continue to play in the preseason, and it is not sure if Brown will even make the Chargers’ final 53-man roster. If he does or makes any NFL team, he will be eligible to become active on October 1. The Kansas City Chiefs signed Brown as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota in 2010 and he has never appeared in a regular season game.
