Report: MLB to test new replay technology

Major League Baseball will test out replay technology at the two New York ballparks starting next week, a step that may lead to expanded replay in the near future, reports Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan on Twitter.

The system will be along the lines of tennis replay. It will be used for fair-or-foul calls, Passan reports. Currently, MLB only uses replay for home run calls.

MLB vice president Joe Torre said Thursday that while the league isn't going to expand replay this season, it is still looking at the possibility for 2013, USA TODAY's Bob Nightengale reports.
