The loss of Laurent Robinson to the Jaguars in free agency left the Cowboys thin at wide receiver. A lingering injury to Miles Austin is making Cowboys fans even more nervous. Rainer Sabin of The Dallas Morning Newsreports Austin isn't any closer to getting back on the field.

The last time receiver Miles Austin practiced was Aug. 4. That day the Cowboys receiver strained his hamstring. And ever since then he has been out of action. Asked about Austin’s status, Jones said, “He’s not the one I’m thinking will be back. I am not discounting it. But he’s not really the one.”

Now, it’s uncertain when he will return. After the Cowboys’ 28-20 loss to San Diego in their second preseason game, team owner Jerry Jones said it’s unlikely Austin will be back on the field this week.
