A source told Irish Illustrated's Pete Sampson that Notre Dame cornerback Lo Wood suffered a season-ending Achilles injury on Monday. The cornerback is expected to have surgery later this week. Wood, a 5-10, 195-pound junior from Apopka, Fla. earned playing time as a freshman. As a sophomore in 2011, he was beaten by USC's Robert Woods on a touchdown pass from Matt Barkley that led to a Trojans victory on national television. He appeared to be in on his way to earning a starting job for the Fighting Irish in 2012 before the injury.
