Cincinnati Reds shortstop prospect Billy Hamilton (here's SI.com's Albert Chen on Hamilton earlier this summer) stole three bases in his first two at-bats on Tuesday to break the professional baseball record for stolen bases in a season. His mark is at 146 and counting.

Hamilton walked in the first inning and then stole second. He singled with two outs in the third and then stole second to tie the record and third to break it.

Hamilton stole 104 bags for Class A Bakersfield before being promoted to Double-A Pensacola, where he obviously has 42 steals.
