Clinton Portis: Redskins' Dan Snyder is "best owner in sports"

Former running back Clinton Portis said in a tweet Thursday that Redskins owner Dan Snyder is the "best owner in sports."

Portis is known for taking unusual stances, and this is one that will catch many people off-guard. Snyder is considered by many to be one of the worst owners in sports. In 2009, SI.com named him the third-worst owner in the NFL.

Portis' tweet came shortly after his retirement ceremony, so he may have been nostalgic. Portis also has reason to appreciate Snyder. The Redskins traded a first-round pick to acquire Portis from the Broncos and then gave him a contract worth more than $50 million.

During the retirement ceremony, Snyder also referred to Portis as “a Hall of Fame running back."
