Chris Faulk injury: LSU left tackle reportedly is done for the season

Three sources told Randy Rosetta of the New Orleans Times-Picayune that LSU junior left tackle Chris Faulk likely will miss the rest of the season with a major knee injury.

Faulk hurt the joint during practice on Wednesday, with coach Les Miles alluding to "a little bit of bad news" after the session. The 6-foot-6, 323-pound Faulk had started the last 15 games -- all 14 in 2011 and the season opener last Saturday -- at LT.

In his first 2013 mock draft back in May, SI.com's Andrew Perloff projected Faulk to go off the board at No. 12 in the first round.

Rosetta writes that the Tigers have three options to replace Faulk: sixth-year senior Josh Dworaczyk, starting left guard La'el Collins and starting right tackle Alex Hurst. Inserting Dworaczyk, who started at LG in 2009 and '10 before missing all of '11 with an injury, would be the least disruptive, but he has never played OT. Collins, a five-star recruit in the class of 2011, could slide outside with Dworaczyk moving back into the LG spot. Or Hurst, in his third year as the starting RT, could flip to the left side with four-star freshman Vadal Alexander stepping into the lineup.
