Tracy McGrady, once a seven-time All-Star and two-time NBA scoring champion, is reportedly in talks with a team in China as a contingency plan should he go more than  another month without an NBA contract, according to Chris Broussard of ESPN:

McGrady's preference is to sign with an NBA club -- preferably one that can compete for the championship -- and a source said he will wait to see if he is picked up by such a team before committing to play overseas. McGrady could wait up to four weeks before making his decision, the source said.

The report also said that it's no guarantee that McGrady will play in China if he does not end up with an NBA this season. He had been working out with the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks this offseason. The Knicks were once interested in him but the team decided this week to move forward with signing Rasheed Wallace.

Last season with the Atlanta Hawks, McGrady averaged 5.3 points and 3.0 rebounds in 16 minutes per game.
