Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin announced today that star safety Troy Polamalu will miss his team's Thursday night game against the Tennessee Titans. Polamalu has struggled with a calf injury this season but was expected to be back to full strength after appearing in the team's game on Sunday, a 16-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, Tomlin said Polamalu aggravated the injury in the game and will sit out the Steelers' next contest.

“He will probably be deemed out this week because of the week itself being a quick turnaround and the nature of the injury,” said Coach Mike Tomlin. “We will evaluate him when get back from Tennessee. We don’t think he will participate.”

Polamalu has appeared in just two games so far this season, contributing to seven tackles total.
