Green Bay Packers running back Cedric Benson will not play Sunday against the Houston Texans due to a foot injury, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy announced Monday.
Benson was carted off in the Packers 30-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. X-rays showed no damage to the foot and Benson said he wasn't concerned about a lisfranc sprain.
"I was able to walk on it," Benson said about the injury."Guys who have had it usually can't."
Benson has 248 yards with one touchdown in 71 carries this season.
Benson signed a one-year deal with the team in August after spending the previous four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. He has rushed for 1,000 yards or more each of the past three seasons.
