The cornerstone of the Oklahoma City Thunder is branching out into yet another venture.

After making his foray into acting with the premiere of Thunderstruck and trying his hand at rapping, Kevin Durant now has plans to open a restaurant in the entertainment district of Bricktown in Oklahoma City in 2013. Durant held a groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 30 along the Bricktown Canal, the future site of the restaurant, according to BeyondTheBuzzer.com.

Earlier in October, the city approved plans to move forward with the construction, according to KOCO.com.

The three-time scoring champion made his acting debut in Thunderstruck, which premiered in August earlier this year. He had also appeared on the rap album of San Antonio Spurs swingman Stephen Jackson this year.

Durant and the Thunder open their season tonight in San Antonio against the Spurs.

In related news, players from the Thunder including Kendrick Perkins, Nick Collison and Serge Ibaka appeared in a recently aired television commercial for an Oklahoma-based car dealership.
