Free-agent Torii Hunter and the Los Angeles Dodgers have entered into discussions about a two-year contract, ESPN Los Angeles' Mark Saxon reported. It suggests they could be willing to move outfielder Andre Ethier in the right deal, according to the report.

From Saxon's report:

The Dodgers' thinking is to use Hunter as an insurance policy as left fielder Carl Crawford's recovery from elbow surgery crosses into early next season, but they also have made it clear to other teams that they would consider trading Andre Ethier.

The 37-year-old Hunter, a nine-time Gold Glove recipient, had a rebound season last year, batting .313 with an .816 OPS. Hunter has reportedly also been in discussions with the New York YankeesBoston Red SoxSeattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies, according to the report.
