The Carolina Panthers have fired their special teams coordinator Brian Murphy, according to a report from the Charlotte Observer. The move come one day after the panthers allowed a 76-yard punt return for a touchdown in the team's 36-14 loss to the Denver Broncos. Murphy will be replaced with former assistant special team coordinator Richard Rogers.

The decision to fire Murphy was reportedly that of head coach Ron Rivera, though Panthers management supported the idea.
