Warriors' Andrew Bogut will be out with injury longer than expected

Six days ago, the Warriors announced that they would sideline starting center Andrew Bogut for seven to 10 days in order to rest his surgically repaired left ankle. That timetable will now be extended, according to CSNBayArea.com's Matt Steinmetz.

Golden State coach Mark Jackson said Wednesday that Bogut would not travel with the team on its upcoming three-game road trip, which ends on Monday.

“We’re going to stick true to the rehab and try to get him as strong as possible and when he’s ready to play, he’ll play. But he won’t be on the trip.”

“He’s going to continue to rehab and when he’s ready to go, he’s ready to go. I don’t even think it makes sense to put a number on it."

The news means that the earliest Bogut will return would be Nov. 21 for a home game against the Nets. He fractured the ankle in January while playing for the Bucks, who traded him to the Warriors in March along with Stephen Jackson for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown.
