The Jacksonville Jaguars placed quarterback Blaine Gabbert on season-ending injured reserve due to injuries to his right forearm and left shoulder, the team announced Wednesday.
Chad Henne will be the starter for the rest of the year with John Parker Wilson being promoted from the practice squad to serve as Henne's backup. Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey named Henne the starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans after Henne threw for 354 yards and four touchdowns in a 43-37 overtime loss at Houston last Sunday. The Jaguars have lost seven games in a row.
Gabbert, the 10th pick overall in the 2011 NFL Draft, has completed 53.8% of his passes in 24 starts over two seasons. He has thrown for 3,876 yards, with 21 touchdowns and 17 interceptions and has been sacked 62 times.
