The Yankees and closer Mariano Rivera are expecting to complete a contract by Friday according to a baseball official who was consulted on the contract in a report by ESPN.com's Jayson Stark

The two sides have agreed on the parameters of a one-year deal, the official said, and spent Thursday trying to finish off final details of Rivera's salary and incentives.

ESPN reported Wednesday that Rivera is expected to accept a pay cut from the $15 million he earned in 2012 -- a guaranteed salary around $11-12 million -- plus incentives that could allow him to reach $15 million in earning if he remains healthy all season.
