Japanese right-handed pitcher Kyuji Fujikawa may be close to signing, with the Angels at the top of his list, according to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports via Twitter.
Fujikawa, 32, is considered the best reliever in Japan with 202 saves, a 1.36 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 12.4 strikeouts per nine innings during his six seasons with the Hanshin Tigers.
He reportedly has received offers from at least 10 MLB teams, including the Angels, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Rangers and Red Sox.
Reports had Fujikawa narrowing his choices to the Angels, Cubs or Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
