The Cardinals have released 12-year veteran tight end Todd Heap, reports NFL.com's Dan Hanzus:
It appears the Arizona Cardinals grew tired of waiting for the return of Todd Heap. The veteran tight end was released on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Heap hadn't played since suffering a knee injury in Week 2.
Heap, 32, joined the Cardinals in 2011 but missed more games (16) than he played (12). He was the Ravens' first round pick in the 2001 draft (31st overall), and averaged 40.2 receiving yards per game and had a total of 5,869 over the course of his career.
