Floyd Mayweather Jr. plans two 2013 fights

Floyd Mayweather Jr. could make his long-anticipated return to the ring with two fights in 2013, according to a report from ESPN.com's Dan Rafael. Rafael quotes Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather's closest advisers, saying that the fights will take place on two major Mexican holidays.

"Floyd has told us that he is fighting twice in 2013 with the first date being May 4 -- Cinco De Mayweather -- and the second date being Sept. 14," Ellerbe told ESPN.com.

Ellerbe says both fights will be in Las Vegas, but what isn't known yet is who Mayweather will fight. A bout against Manny Pacquiao has been the most requested matchup in boxing in recent years, but there are no indications that either of Mayweather's 2013 fights will be against the Filipino.
