Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora was asked on 98.7 ESPN Radio if the Patriots were the best team in football after handing the Texans a 42-14 loss on Sunday night. Umenyiora boldly responded that the Giants, not the Patriots, were the best team.

He clarified his best-in-football claim by saying:

"We’ve just been inconsistent. So if we can play the way we’re capable of playing – the way we played against San Francisco, the way we played against Green Bay, the way we played against the Saints for the majority of the game – I don’t think there’s a team that’s better than us at all."
Under Tom Coughlin, the Giants have adopted a kind of "Talk is cheap" mantra, but it seems like Osi Umenyiora is not abiding by that one.
