Indiana State has named Mike Sanford Sr. as its new head coach.

Indiana State has appointed Mike Sanford Sr. as head coach. The former UNLV head coach and current assistant head coach for Utah State will step in to replace Trent Miles, who departed Indiana State for the head coaching job at Georgia State.

Sanford Sr. has a total of 35 years of coaching experience. As the head coach at UNLV from 2005-09, he compiled a 16-43 record. He spent the 2012 season as the assistant head coach and running backs/tight ends coach at Utah State. He helped the Aggies post a 10-2 record and win the WAC title.
