Outfielder Adam Greenberg is one more step closer to playing in the big leagues again. The Orioles agreed to terms on a minor league contract with the 31-year-old on Thursday, reported CBS Sports. The deal does not include a spring training invite.

In 2005, Greenberg was hit in the head with the first pitch he saw: a fastball from Marlins southpaw Valerio De Los Santos. Greenberg suffered post-concussion syndrome, dizziness, headaches, vision problems and nausea following the incident. He played in independent leagues from 2009 to 2011. Greenberg finally got a second plate appearance in the majors when the Marlins gave him a one-day contract spurred on by a "One At-Bat" campaign launched by filmmaker Matt Liston. Greenberg struck out against R.A. Dickey.

The last time Greenberg was in the minors was in 2008 with the Angels' Double-A affiliate in Arkansas. He hit .271/.361/.347 with two home runs and 15 RBIs in 70 games.
