The Arizona Cardinals have cleaned house, firing both head coach Ken Whisenhunt and General Manager Rod Graves on Monday afternoon, according to multiple reports, including from ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Cardinals endured a disappointing 5-11 season, their third straight campaign to end with a .500 or below record. The team struggled mightily on the offensive side of the ball this season, ranking dead last in the NFL in yards gained and second to last in points.
Whisenhunt coached the Cardinals for six years, a run that included two playoff appearances in 2008 and 2009 and a trip to Super Bowl XL!!, where they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
