Brooklyn Nets general manager Billy King is apparently in no hurry to name a new coach, saying that interim coach P.J. Carlesimo will stay in that position for now and he is not actively searching for someone to take the job permanently.

King said on ESPN Radio Sunday that the team will continue to support Carlesimo and will re-evaluate his status moving forward. King did not put a timetable on when a new coach will be hired.

The Nets fired coach Avery Johnson on Thursday and the Nets are 2-0 since Carlesimo took over, with defeats over the Charlotte Bobcats and Cleveland Cavaliers.

"We've put our support behind (P.J.) and then we'll look at things and evaluate it later," King said. "I know people have been throwing lists together and things like that, but we have not contacted anybody. ... We've made the move and now we're going to let P.J. coach. Sometimes you just need a different voice. What I like about P.J. is he's had NBA head coaching experience. I think he understands the game, he's been around it."
