On Monday, the Cleveland Browns fired head coach Pat Shurmur. Then on Thursday, Chip Kelly coached the Oregon Ducks to a 35-17 victory over Kansas State. Now on Friday there are reports that Kelly is "very close" to a deal with the Cleveland Browns.

Kelly said after the Fiesta Bowl that he hopes to have the interviewing process "wrapped up quickly." Less than one day later is much quicker than most would expect.

NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport first reported that the Browns and Kelly were close to a deal to make him head coach. [tweet https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/287332493487656960]
