Report: John Dorsey to be Chiefs next GM

The Kansas City Chiefs hired John Dorsey to be its next general manager on Saturday, the team announced.

Dorsey has 22 years of NFL front office experience and has been in the Green Bay Packers organization for the past 13 years, starting out as the team's director of college scouting. Last season, he was the team's director of football operations.

Dorsey replaces Scott Pioli, who was fired on Jan. 4.  The Chiefs were 2-14 this past season and also replaced coach Romeo Crennel and hired former Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid. Dorsey and Reid worked together when Reid was a coordinator in Green Bay before taking the Eagles job. Reid said this week that whoever is hired as the GM would have final say over the team's personnel.
