David Beckham to AC Milan? Rumors spread in face of conflicting reports

Rumors that David Beckham will return to AC Milan are moving through the Italian press and Twitter, conflicting with earlier reports that the Italian club had declined to sign the English football star.

Beckham, who recently finished his run with Major League Soccer''s Los Angeles Galaxy, played for Milan on loan in 2009 and 2010. Reports in the English-speaking press have cited the Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.

British tabloids The Daily Mail and The Daily Mirror, among others, previously reported that the Serie A club turned down Beckham's wish to end his career in Italy.

The 37-year-old midfielder was reportedly in talks with as many as 13 teams.
