Forbes Magazine: Big Ten most valuable conference

Even though the Southeastern Conference has won seven straight college football BCS Championships, they aren't leading the way when it comes to the most valuable conferences.

The Big Ten Conference leads the way in making money with $310 million annually with the SEC coming in fourth, according to Forbes Magazine.  The Pac-12 is second at $303 million, the ACC comes in at $293 million and the SEC is at $270 million. The list combines generated revenue from television deals, the NCAA Basketball tournament and bowl games.

The five most valuable conferences are set to collect over $1.4 billion this year from bowls, tournaments and television; the bottom five – which includes the Big East – have racked up a measly $175 million from the same sources.
