Titans running back Chris Johnson told The Tennesseean he has not heard from the Titans about his $10 million dollar contract. Five days after the Super Bowl, nine million of Johnson's contract becomes guaranteed.
The Titans finished the season 6-10 this year, with Johnson running for 1,243 yards and six touchdowns this season. While there hasn't been much indication that the team was considering releasing Johnson, there has been no news on the Titans' plan for him in public or in private.
The 27-year-old running back said the Titans are far from a Super Bowl-worthy team and expressed his frustration with the team's losing record this year.
“We’re very, very, very far away. I can’t even see it. It’s like it’s in space.”
“I don’t want to just keep playing every year and winning six games or eight games and that’s it,” Johnson said. “I had that playoff taste in 2008, and that makes me hungrier to be there.
