LSU defensive ends Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery are both projected first-round NFL draft picks, but Mingo the current consensus has Mingo going in the top 10 and Montgomery going in the top 25.

If their draft statuses hold, it could cost Montgomery $5,000.

That's because, as Montgomery revealed at the NFL Combine on Saturday, the two former teammates are betting on who will get drafted higher, according to SB Nation's Dan Kadar.

Both said that they made playful bets on their football feats during their time with the Tigers, too.

"We had three bets going on. We had one for the highest (amount) of sacks for $1,000. I won that," Montgomery said. "We had one for $500 for the most sacks in the last game. I won that. Now we're fighting (to see) who goes highest in the draft.

"That amount of money is pretty big, so I have to come through with this one."

...

"Sam and I had plenty of bets on the year," Mingo said. "Our first one was who had the first sack. He was supposed to wash my car because I won. He hasn't done that.

"I'm pretty confident in myself, so he's going to be coming out some money on that one. And I get a car wash."

Mingo, 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, is the more highly regarded prospect, having posted 15 sacks during his three-year career to earn second-team all-SEC honors the past two years.
