Free agent tackle to-be Jake Long is looking for a contract that will pay him $11 million annually, a number that would make him among the highest-paid players at his position.

Citing a team familiar with Long's asking price, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported the figure on Sunday. That would be an increase from late January, when reports put Long's demands around $10 million per season.

Until recently, Long was thought to be one of the best left tackles in the game. But at only 27, Long has seen multiple injuries that have led to a rather stark decline over the past two seasons. The Dolphins placed him on injured reserve in December after he tore his left triceps. It remains uncertain as to whether he will remain at left tackle in the long-term.

The Dolphins drafted tackle Jonathan Martin in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played most of this season as the team’s right tackle, but he was a left tackle at Stanford.
